Nima First Citizens Foundation Calls for Justice Over Mamobi Child Abuse Case

The Nima First Citizens Foundation (NFCF) has expressed outrage and solidarity following a disturbing incident in Mamobi, where a 7-year-old girl was allegedly burnt by her caretaker as punishment for bedwetting.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, October 30, 2025, the Foundation described the act as “horrific and deeply concerning,” emphasizing the need for collective community responsibility in protecting children from abuse.

The Foundation commended Mallam Razak of Pigfarm and several community youth for intervening and ensuring that the case was reported to the police for prosecution.

“We applaud the youth of the community for their swift action in ensuring the accused was not granted bail and was instead taken back to the police station for prosecution,” said Chief Mustafa Sawaba of the Nima First Citizens Foundation.

“This kind of community-driven initiative sends a strong message against criminal acts and promotes a safer environment.”

The NFCF urged continued community vigilance and collaboration with law enforcement agencies to safeguard children and promote justice. The Foundation noted that such acts of abuse must be confronted firmly to ensure accountability and to deter future incidents.

“The Foundation hopes this incident highlights the importance of protecting children from harm and promoting a safe environment for all,” the statement added.

The release was signed by Abdullai Haruna, President of the Nima First Citizens Foundation.
