Thousands of Frontline Health Workers to Benefit from Donation of 30,000 Military-Grade Nose Masks

The Ayawaso North Municipal Assembly has received a significant donation of medical supplies, comprising 30,000 military-grade nose masks, from Help to Help Inc. Africa and Hausa Youth Ghana, aimed at bolstering the country’s infectious disease prevention efforts.

The donation, which was handed over to the Ayawaso North Municipal Health Directorate, is part of the organisations’ ongoing commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of marginalized communities in Ghana.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Haruna Mohammed Awal, expressed his profound gratitude for the generous donation, describing it as a timely intervention in the fight against infectious diseases. He urged the Health Directorate to ensure that the donated items are used strictly for their intended purpose.

“We are extremely grateful to Help to Help Inc. Africa and Hausa Youth Ghana for their kindness and generosity,” Hon Awal said. “This donation will go a long way in supporting our frontline health workers and strengthening our infectious disease prevention efforts.”

The donation was received by Dr. Edem Ludo, Ayawaso North Municipal Health Director, who commended the organisations for their support and reiterated the importance of collaboration in addressing health challenges.

Hajia Zaliatu Kasim Samu, Public Relations Officer of Help to Help Inc. Africa, said the organisation is committed to empowering West African communities through healthcare, with a focus on marginalized and vulnerable populations.

The donated nose masks will be distributed to health facilities within the Ayawaso North Municipality, including the Maamobi General Hospital and Accra New Town Islamic Hospital, to support infection prevention and control efforts.

The donation is part of Help to Help Inc. Africa’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare outcomes in Ghana, following their recent dental care initiatives in the country.
