The Chief Imam of Bole, a community in the Savannah Region, has banned extravagant Islamic weddings that do not conform to Islamic teachings within his jurisdiction.
According to the Bole Chief Imam, Alhaji Mohammed Iddrisu, the move was necessary after a series of consultations to preserve, protect and uphold Islamic teachings within the community, which seemed to be fading.
In a communiqué to the Paramount Chief of Bole, Police Commander and all relevant stakeholders, the Imam said the Bole Islamic Council, which he heads, took this decision “to curb deviant practices which set high wedding costs, therefore making it difficult for many youth to get married.”
The deviant practices introduced, which are not in accordance with Islamic teachings, are: reception (with multiple dressings by the couples), male beauticians dressing the opposite sex, and open mix-gender parties, popularly known as “Jams”, “Shiga Fudu Fudu”, or “Soleku”.
The ban is effective Wednesday, 5 March 2025.

Masha-Allah
May Allah grant him Jannah
I can now see We are heading somewhere. Imagine using over 30, 000 to get married and the lady will only come in to be selling fried groundnut one one cedis. We all understand that living in this world 🌎 isn’t easy and man kind was created in a stage of struggle (suratul BALAD) but most of this things We ourselves makes them so difficult for ourselves. This marriage for example; we brought a lot of things into marriage and we get married again. You will go and buy human being. May Allah grant us understanding and help our brother to put this in place for to get married and still get balance to manage the marriage 😄💑
