The LAY Foundation has supported over 100 elderly women and widows in Greater Accra Muslim communities before the Eid al-Adha celebrations.
The beneficiaries from Nima, Mamobi, Abossey Okai, and Sabon Zongo received dairy products, rice, beverages, water, and meat, among other items.
This marks the fifth year of the LAY Foundation, an initiative by TV3 news anchor Ayisha Yakubu-Halid, which has been dedicated to assisting those in need with relief items.
“It was truly humbling to be able to give back and to see smiles light up the faces of these mothers. Their strength, resilience, and grace continue to inspire us,” Ayisha remarked on the sidelines of the donation event.
She expressed gratitude to the team for making the project a reality, stating, “This time around, for our Eid al-Adha project, we collaborated with several brands to bring joy to the community.”
“We received support from Peeva, ECL Cold Store, Hilly’s Bridal Closet, and Pinky Grapes Catering. They have been instrumental in this effort; we are very thankful for their support. We also received help from the Lord Rayden Foundation and many other supporters,” she added.
