President Mahama Inspects Ofankor-Nsawam Road Project, Urges Contractors to Prioritize Quality and Traffic Flow

President John Dramani Mahama has inspected ongoing works on the Ofankor-Nsawam road project and urged contractors to strike a balance between speed and quality while minimizing traffic disruptions.

The road, which is a vital link between Accra and the Eastern Region, has been under heavy construction, causing daily congestion for commuters. During his visit, President Mahama emphasized the importance of using durable materials to ensure the longevity of the project.

“This is a major corridor for thousands of people and goods. We expect contractors to not only speed up the work but also ensure that quality is not compromised,” he stated. “At the same time, they must put in place proper traffic control measures to reduce the burden on road users.”

He expressed concern over the growing frustration of commuters and called for enhanced coordination among contractors, engineers, and traffic management teams to ease the situation.

The Ofankor-Nsawam project forms part of a larger national agenda to modernize Ghana’s road infrastructure, improve connectivity, and support economic growth. President Mahama reaffirmed his government’s commitment to delivering critical road projects that will stand the test of time and meet the needs of future generations.
