Shenmo Ghana Wins Top Honors at 2nd African Shenmo Cup in Kigali

Ghana recorded a remarkable feat at the 2nd African Shenmo Cup International Abacus Mental Olympiad, as Shenmo Ghana clinched top awards at the continental competition held at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village, Kigali in Rwanda, on Saturday, 18 October 2025.

Representing Ghana, Ridwan Mahmoud Jajah and Ummu Sulaim Abass from Al-Hikmah Islamic Montessori School emerged 1st and 3rd place winners respectively in the Level 1 Category, excelling in a contest that featured over 300 participants from 30 African countries including Kenya, Rwanda, Libya, Zambia, Mozambique, Mali, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Cameroon.

Their exceptional performance earned Ghana two gold medals and two trophies, a testament to their skill and dedication in Abacus Mental Mathematics.

The Ghanaian delegation was led by Mr. Musa Frimpong, Principal of Shenmo Ghana, and Mr. Joseph Gyebi, Abacus Instructor. The team is expected to arrive back in Ghana on Wednesday, 22 October 2025.

Shenmo Ghana’s success highlights the nation’s growing excellence in cognitive education and mental arithmetic across Africa.
