World Hausa Day 2025: Hausa Youth Ghana Set To Celebrate Heritage, Culture

Hausa Youth Ghana, a leading organisation dedicated to promoting the Hausa language, culture, and heritage, is proud to announce the celebration of World Hausa Day 2025.

Throughout August, the organisation will host series of events, stakeholders and general public engagement to highlight the rich heritage and economic contributions of the Hausa-speaking people.

With a focus on empowering the youth and showcasing the richness of Hausa heritage, Hausa Youth Ghana is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of its people.

This year’s celebration will feature three major events designed to highlight the rich heritage and economic contributions of the Hausa people.

Float and Awareness Campaign – August 23, 2025

The festivities will kick off with a vibrant float and awareness campaign, driving through the major Zango communities of Accra raising awareness about World Hausa Day and the upcoming lectures. This event aims to generate excitement and build momentum for the celebrations.

Public Lectures on Hausa History and Economic Impact – August 26, 2025

The second event will be a public lecture on August 26 at the Chief Imam conference hall in Kanda National Mosque. Esteemed speakers from diverse backgrounds will lead discussions focusing on the history of the Hausa people and their significant impact on our economy. This event aims to educate and engage the community in meaningful conversations about the importance of preserving and promoting the Hausa language and culture.

Cultural Display and Durbar of Chiefs – August 30, 2025

The celebration will climax on August 30 with a grand Durbar of chiefs and a vibrant cultural display, to be held at the Forecourt of the State House. This spectacular event will showcase the rich traditions, music, and arts of the Hausa-speaking people, offering attendees an immersive experience into the cultural heritage that has shaped our society for generations.
