Final Point Foundation, a grassroots NGO dedicated to promoting academic excellence, recently held an Academic Tenacity Mentoring Program for selected schools in the Bole District to honour Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Engineers & Planners and owner of Dzata Cement. This initiative recognised his impactful leadership and the transformative changes he has brought to the lives of people across Ghana through the “Hero Book Project 2025.”
On May 13th and 14th, 2025, over 600 BECE candidates participated in the mentoring program at the Bole Assemblies of God Church. The initiative aimed to equip students with essential learning skills, foster a growth mindset, and encourage Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a preferred path after the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Additionally, the program emphasised the dangers of drug abuse and provided role models for students to look up to for a better future.
From May 18th to 23rd, 2025, two thousand copies of the “Hero Book Project 2025,” titled “How to Be a Better Student,” were distributed free of charge to all BECE candidates, non-candidates, and teachers across all 15 Junior High Schools in Bole township. This branded booklet serves as a supplementary reader, motivating students to enhance their studies, promoting a drug-free lifestyle, and presenting Ibrahim Mahama as a role model for a better future.
One beneficiary, Alhassan Aminatu Alelemato from Kurabaso JHS, expressed her gratitude to the Final Point Foundation for the mentoring program. She stated that the program would greatly assist them in performing well in their upcoming BECE exams and that receiving the hero book from Ibrahim Mahama has inspired them to keep learning.
Mr. Yusuf, a teacher at St. Kizito’s JHS A, who participated in and coordinated the book distribution, shared that the program has been eye-opening for both him and the students. He noted that featuring Mr. Ibrahim Mahama on the cover, along with his message to the students, has been incredibly motivating.
The Bole Municipal Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Mr. Richard Achinani Sepaga, expressed gratitude to the Final Point Foundation for organising the mentoring program. He mentioned that the entire GES directorate appreciates the Foundation for selecting the Bole District for this impactful initiative, which prepares students mentally for the upcoming BECE exams.
The Executive Director of the project, Mr. Kushtain, believes that mentorship and books featuring successful entrepreneurs, such as Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, especially those with a direct message from him on the book cover, can transform students’ lives. “This is our small way of celebrating him as our national hero,” Kushtain added.
