
On Monday, Ghana’s Minister for the Interior welcomed the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Dakhel, at his office in Accra.
This visit marked a significant step in strengthening the bilateral relationship between the Republic of Ghana and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The high-level meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to engage in meaningful discussions aimed at enhancing collaboration across various sectors. The talks focused on important areas such as border security, counter-terrorism, and capacity-building, which are critical for regional peace and security.
According to a statement from the Interior Ministry, both leaders expressed a shared interest in establishing a closer partnership that would support the development agendas of both nations. The Saudi Ambassador, H.E. Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Dakhel, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s national development efforts. He highlighted Saudi Arabia’s readiness to work closely with Ghana in addressing mutual security concerns and advancing technical and institutional development.
Ambassador Al-Dakhel also expressed Saudi Arabia’s interest in fostering greater understanding and cooperation with Ghana, emphasizing the importance of long-term strategic relations between the two countries. He praised Ghana for its role as a stable democracy in the West African region and expressed optimism about the future of their bilateral ties.
In response, the Minister for the Interior expressed gratitude for the Ambassador’s visit and acknowledged the ongoing support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He noted that cooperation between both countries, particularly in security, would significantly contribute to regional stability and national resilience.
The Minister reiterated Ghana’s commitment to pursuing international partnerships that align with the country’s peace and development priorities.
