John Mahama Donates Motorcycles to Islamic Media Outlets

Former President and Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, has donated motorcycles to several Islamic media organisations as part of his ongoing efforts to engage with media outlets broadcasting to Zongo audiences.

The beneficiary media organisations include Hafiz TV, Baina TV, Sharubutu TV, Hijrah TV, and Marhaba FM, all based in Accra, as well as Peace Dawah Media, Zuria FM, and Haske FM, based in Kumasi.

The donation follows an appeal made by Hafiz TV during its recent anniversary celebrations.

According to Hon. Mustapha Abubakar, a leading NDC member and former Deputy MASLOC CEO, the gesture is to retool the media organisations to work more efficiently. “We are trying to support media houses because sometimes you’re called late at night or early in the morning to cover a programme, and you don’t have the means. So, we believe these motorcycles will help retool you to carry on with your work.” He added.

John Dramani Mahama is seeking election to lead Ghana for a second term, having previously served as President from 24 July 2012 to 7 January 2017.

Among his key policies are the implementation of a 24-hour economy, investigations into crimes and corruption, and the introduction of an additional religious holiday for Muslims.
